Saturday. Long day. Woke up early, packed cold water, cold plums and climbed Magrotto again. Revisited all the places we were at last time, the dam, where we had a very nice rest for an hour (my back got really dirty), the junction where Hari ate mangoes last time, etc. At the to of the mountain we had chapati with beans for lunch, quite nice. Met a Tanzanian person who could speak good English and he taught us a bit about the culture and language up there. Only problem was he wouldn't let us go as we were walking back down. Kept telling us how he was impoverished and had no employment opportunities etc etc. We had to firmly tell him that while it was nice meeting him we wanted to continue on our way alone. I gave him a 1000 shilling tip to kind of shoo him away, in the end he gave us his name and we had to promise to return in a few weeks to ask for him so that the other villagers will think highly of him as "mzungus" know him. We're not going back. He was a cool guy but got annoying in the end.
Arriving back was the best thing ever. My legs were sore and I was tired. Had a much needed soft drink at the canteen (sugar boost) then came home to have a shower and had instant noodles for dinner.
Watched Inglorious Basterds with Hari. Very entertaining, slightly confusing at times. But overall recommended. Went to bed after that, around 10.30pm. Needed a good rest.
