BLOGGE(RED) Day 7

Fri. Morning meeting. Cryptococal meningitis man died, still don't know cause as HIV negative. Did obs & gynae today, had a woman collapse while sitting up in bed on the ward round due to PPH. Lots of interesting patients, lots of babies with unknown fever getting antibiotics. The special care nursery (called SCBU - special care baby unit) requires removal of shoes before entering. Did antenatal clinic briefly. Then a long long gynae clinic. Did more PVs today than my entire time at KEMH. Lots of fibroids, prolapse, endometriosis, ovarian cysts.

Went for chips & mayi in muheza town around 2pm.

Bought groceries home to cook.

Did my washing. My goodness. I will never take my washing machine for granted again. Hard work washing clothes manually. The water isn't all that clean either... check it out.

Played football with the local boys then had dinner. Watched 1984 (finally) with the other students to finish off the day. Weekend tomorrow! Going trekking to train for Kili.
