BLOGGE(RED) Day 10

Mon. Might be easier to just blog for the week and transfer it all to a USB and upload it on Tanga Tuesdays at internet cafe. Annoying to upload lots of photos though through my mobile phone's connection which is really slow.

Went to morning meeting, but felt like study and Dr Masange prefers no students on Mondays so we headed back to the hostel to do study. Ended up doing a bit of revision of malaria and antibiotics. Did visit the ward though and our TB patient with the amazing pleural effusion signs from last week looked really unwell today.

Booked Peponi resort weekend for 8-10 January. Looking forward to that. Comfortable beds, air conditioning, warm showers, western resort lifestyle. Should be awesome and a nice break from this basic place. Chapati and eggs for lunch again. On way back our tour guide from Magrotto mountain on Saturday met us at the gate trying to sell us some mangoes (since the mangoes saved Hari on the mountain I guess?), and kept asking to give me his email address. Weird and very stalkerish and he has called several times as well asking how Hari was. We lied that we were leaving tomorrow to get him off our back. Should not have given him my number as I thought we'd contact him for future scaling of that mountain. Thinking of buying a new sim card.

Afternoon had a nap and did more reading.

Night went to Muheza, and after a dinner of chips and egg (this is seriously getting really greasy), hit the pool table. Hari and Helen were playing against a local Tanzanian guy and lost with 2 balls left on the table. Bought 5 x 6 litre bottles of water to stock up (running low). Attempted to carry them on head like the locals, and failed. Came home and chatted under starlight, then went to bed.

Anyway, not many photos from today so I though I'd post some pictures of my room, so you can see what it looks like:
